About the Author
MaKenna Doherty is a lifelong booklover. Growing up, she collected books and found them to be a productive way to learn, grow, and connect with others. She got her first job as an intern at Macmillan’s Tor Books in New York City and later worked at Blue River Press in Indianapolis. After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in communications, she spent the next three years teaching English to children in Japan.
While living there, MaKenna found her passion for helping young learners grow, and this inspired her to write. Her stories share critical life lessons and encourage others to never give up.
About the Illustrator
At a young age, Stefanie Geyer attended drawing classes with her mother. This lead to a career in art illustration as she pursued her education at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. Stefanie now lives in Winamac, Indiana with her boyfriend, four dogs, and cat, where she continues to illustrate children’s books.
